I have heard that moth balls will stop digging, but I cannot say personally.

I've heard that too, but it's not a good choice in this situation.
For one thing, she loves to eat dog poop :P and for another, dog feces
are supposed to be kept *out* of gardens & compost piles. I've heard
this is because there are viruses that dogs can carry & people can catch.

Hmm, that's an interesting thought. I wonder if that's why her
favorite yard game is "scatter all the gardening gloves & knee pads
around the yard"?
