I also used newspapers for whelping only and the last litters I had, I decided
I would try shredded paper. It works very well and also can be used for
starting a fire in your fireplace. LOLOL, do not like my name/address and
other personal information going in the garbage so I just shred all of the
garbage mail. I keep it in a garbage bag, ready for my next litter. Shavings
are not a real mess if they are in a contained area. Bonnie
