You are all right.....we have to learn to play with others and become
more attentive members of the "Dog World". It's too easy to become blind
to certain things if you are an isolationist.....everyone believes that they
have the BEST breed....
UNITED WE STAND...DIVIDED WE FALL....
Join an AB Club so that you have a voice in ring size and judges selection.

That's the way I see it too. If a specialty club even "supports" an
entry, you have a big grassy ring early in the AM (so as not to bother other
breeds w/ doubling <VBG>), choice of judges, usually a local specialty GSD
judge BTW at little to no charge, (maybe just miles), a few donated
trophies....I 'dunno...in the NE/Mid-Atlantic we play well with others
(specialty/AB) and it all comes together.

Most all breed clubs realize this and are more than willing to assist. When
I lived in CA, the all breed clubs routinely gave us big rings "away from
everyone" so we do our "shepherd thing" in peace. The TKC (Tuscaloosa KC)
said they would welcome any supported entry with a breeder judge and would
be happy to give us a big ring out doors if that would get a good GSD entry
here for their 4 day cluster. I think all you have to do is ask. All
breed
clubs are counting on your support as well. As many clubs realize, this
isnt a "specialty vs all breed " thing. This is "us" (collectively) banning
together for survival of dog shows period. Being back in the southeast, I
have realized, outside of the few specialties in FLA, GA SC and TN, the
entries are very small. I had an open bitch that only needed majors and
sent her home because there were none to be found. We will try again this
year.
