[ SHOWGSD-L ] need info on pannus meds please

Hi,
An older gentleman called me (got my name through my clubs website) and has
a 5 yr old male with pannus. This man is 85 yrs old and sounds really
nice but is at his wits end cause he is on social security and has to spend
quite a bit each month to buy the "optimmune" med for his dog. He loves his
dog and is so afraid the dog will eventually go blind-and he is willing to
do the meds-he is paying $38 per small tube of the optimmune and really
wanted to know if I knew of any place he could get this med cheaper--or if
there is anything else he could use that he could afford.
I feel so bad for them (dog and person)--poor old man--wants to care for
his dog and is spending grocery money for the meds.
Any ideas??
