I am trying to figure out why everyone thinks Concord, NC, is going to be
cold and/or affected by Hurricane Wilma.

NC may be a coastal state, but Concord (Charlotte) is NOWHERE NEAR the coast
of NC. As the crow flies, it's about 180 miles to the closest beach -- over
3 hours driving time. Arizona is significantly closer to the CA coast than
this. Reno, NV is about the same distance from the CA coast as Concord is
from the NC coast.

Next weekend for herding in Durham, it's supposed to be in the mid 60s and
sunny. PERFECT! Charlotte is supposed to be high 60s and sunny. Yes, nights
will get down to high 40s, but that's good sleeping weather :-)

I can't WAIT for these 60 degree days....we've had a miserable summer in
Savannah and even today was ridiculously hot & humid for October 21st.
