Hey Amy,
Could you pass this around in your area? I just got it this morning and the
dog is still missing. Although Georgia is a distance from us, but you never
know.

Subject: Missing Border Collie

My name is Holly Moore and I am a small animal veterinarian doing a
residency at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
I lost my Border Collie, Shep, back on October 9th from our home on a
farm in Sanford, Georgia. We had a search and rescue dog track Shep -
and she led us across the front pasture and to the road where the
scent
ended, and Shep is believed to be have been put into a closed vehicle
at
that point.

We want to alert all Border Collie rescue groups to keep their eyes
open
for Shep. He could be with anyone at this point - either as a 'rescue'
or with someone claiming to be his owner - and he could be turned over
to a rescue group for adoption. Please examine and scan for a
microchip
with every 'new' Border Collie you see. He means the world to me, and
I
am trying everything I can to find him. As you can imagine, he has
been
the most dedicated companion, and it hurts so much each day I am
without
him.

"Shep"
.. Border Collie
.. male, neutered
.. 11 years old - but looks and acts like he is 5
.. 50 lbs (thin, but bigger-boned than many Border Collies)
.. black and white (mostly black with thin white stripe down nose,
thin
white collar on left side of neck, white chest/abdomen, paws and tip
of
tail)
. his lower canine teeth are worn down - this should stand out and
hopefully identify him
.. HomeAgain microchip # 226B5C1C77
.. very obedient

Shep is very, very precious to me, and I know all of you understand
just
how special our Border Collies are to all of us. Please circulate this
information to any contacts you may have and ask everyone to please
keep
their eyes open for Shep. I have attached a flyer and a picture of
Shep
- maybe you could circulate the flyer to other rescue groups you may
have contact with or post the picture on your website - just in case a
person who ends up with him happens to look at your webpage. I know
this is a long shot, and many of you live nowhere near Georgia - but
you
just never know - crazier things have happened, and miracles happen
every day.

I may be reached at any time at 706-224-4415.

Thank you all so much for your help.

Sincerely,

Holly A. Moore, DVM
