She was a trip!
We had a bitch named Baricincia, (Berry). We lived in Whittier and had the
back fence set up with a run about ten feet deep the entire length of the
yard. When we came home, often Berry would be in the house. Finally we figured
out that we had not left her in the house, but in the run.
So, one day Tedi and I said, very loudly, "We are leaving now" and we
slammed the front door and went outside to watch.
What Berry was doing is climbing over the back six foot fence, going through
the neighbor's yard to the street. Then she would run down the block to the
end, around the end of the block and up the sidewalk to our house. Then she
was going over the front fence, into the side yard, and in the doggy door,
into the house to pretend she had been there all day. Tedi and I stood in
front
and watched her running as hard as she could up the street. She got about
ten feet away when she looked up. That was the first time I ever saw a
shepherd
blush.
When we gave Lethal Weapon to Twyla, she took him to his first show. On the
way she stopped to have dinner at a restaurant, on the way. She left the
window open a bit, so he would have air. When she finished dinner and left,
there
was Weap sitting by the front door of the restaurant waiting for his new
friend. I last showed Weap at 11 in Veterans.
