Sterilon. I won't use newspapers or carpet. Call me crazy but I know
what my hands look like after reading a newspaper and I don't want a wee puppy
w/ a "new" umbilical cord on that.
Carpet...nope. Fumes, all those chemicals and you can't clean it and if
it's dark you also won't notice if a litter has loose stools or if momma's
discharge is the wrong color.
The sterilon is snow white, I wash it daily in the beginning, 2x a day with
a large/older litter. (using laundry sop for babies, rinsing 2x). It IS
pricey but it lasts forever. I get the huge rolls and cut to fit. I have
two whelping boxes and have about a half dozen pads at this point.
