Unfortunately, I don't think that behavior will ever go away. I am not
condoning bad behavior, I just except what I can not change and choose to
ignore it. However by doing so one needs a tougher skin to make some of those
choices. The ones that take everything to heart and are sensitive to what
others say or do, will be hurt and may give up. (Very sad for the sport). After
40 years, what advise would you give a newbie?

Bad mouthing and nastiness has gone on in the breed ring for as long as I
can remember, 40 years of this for me.
Some of us are just a bit more stubborn than others so we stick with it,
but telling new people to grow a thick skin? Isn't that condoning bad
behavior?
I kinda figure the smarter ones left early if that's the case.
