Great Post! That same comment "I'm nobody" also irritated me, but you beat me
to the keys and said it well. Just ask your dogs what they think of you, this
is about the breed.
How odd that our dogs can get along yet they live with us and are influenced by
us and they don't pick up the negative traits. Maybe people should start paying
more attention to their dogs and learn from their behaviors. Especially if you
find the need to be negative, be aloof instead.

I love the breed. I am a nobody.
Can I tell you how much this statement irritates me!!! This is not the first
time that I've seen this said!/If you love the breed, then darn it, YOU ARE A
SOMEBODY!!! We need more people that LOVE the breed just because they're a
German Shepherd and not for the amount of trophies they may win that collect
dust on shelves. Those people that you mentioned in your letter that put
people down.......well let's just say that they're the nobodies!! If they were
"a somebody" then they wouldn't have the need to put "anybody" down./You are a
lover of the German Shepherd breed and there's no better "somebody" to be and
that we need more of!!! You keep on being that "somebody" that you are!
Those "nobodies" are not "somebody" that you'd want to be anyway!!! Barbara
I really wasn't going to speak on this subject. But, I think some folks
just don't get it! I have been in GSD's for about 13years. Ok, a newbie
to some. I have heard it all. To my face, behind my back and through the
grapevine. I have been lambasted on the List as well as in private. I've
had to block a couple people on the List for being evil to me in private
emails. I went off the List for a time. But, I kept coming back. I did
this because of the education and the comraderie that exists among the
general population. There are negative Nellies in every aspect of our
lives. There are people who feel better about themselves by putting
others down. There are people who think they are better than everyone
else and make sure everyone knows it by belitting others. There are some
that have rose colored glasses and think all is good, no matter what the
issue. Mostly, dog people are a family. I learned something a long time
ago. One will run into all these people. Take what you can from each of
them and use it to your benefit. Take the education or talent from the
experts and leave the negativity and lack of ethics behind you. Look
through the rose colored glasses but with discretion. Not everything is
rosy, so do your homework. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask. If
you have an opinion that is different, so be it. Don't take anything
personally unless it is a direct attack. If it is, get your ducks in a
row ad defend yourself. Don't be intimidated just because someone
doesn't agree with you. I love the breed. I am a nobody. But, I continue
to learn and enjoy what I do with my dogs. I am on other Lists that are
just as snarky. It is the nature of these Lists. One cannot take them
seriously or let them rule your life. JMHO Laura Thomas ============
