I agree with Peggy and Joan, the shows are getting more & more expensive. It
will not drive me out of showing, but the days of showing 2 & 3 dogs at
same time are
long gone for me. I guess that the only complaint I have about the
handlers is
that I don't like paying all that money when they are showing & campaigning
their
own dogs at the same shows. They just about have to care more about winning
with their own dog rather than the client's dog. Twenty years ago there
were only a
few professional handlers that also showed & promoted their own dogs - now, it
is hard to find one that really cares about whether your dog wins or not.
Mind you, these comments are not true for everyone. There are still some
handlers
that don't compete with their clients & really seem to care. Things
change & we
can either try to cope or we can complain & quit.
