I think the problem is not just no new people coming in the breed but you are going to be seeing a lot of the ol timers leaving it. More and more of the people I talk to are just about on their way out of dogs. Not because they want to be but because they can no longer justify the expense of showing. These are not people leaving for wda or switching to other breeds these are people who no longer are willing to pay 2-4 hundred dollars for a weekend plus their own expenses. These are people who are no longer willing to use handlers who have their own stud dogs and breeding programs . People who do not want to pay to compete with their own handlers. As the economy gets tighter dog shows will get smaller.
