So I got to wondering where others have gotten their kennel names
from. I know here, that there is a kennel name that is the area the
breeders live in, so where did you get your kennel name from?
Rosegarden is mine. I breed the kerry blues under the Rosegarden Prefix. Many
moons ago, I had prize rosegarden. I cultivated (not bred!) Japanese Tea Roses
and American Beauty Hybrids. Roses were a lot of work--fed, dusted, cut ever
3-5, and they are tempermental.. the work was hard, but the outstanding beauty
of a well tended garden paled in comparison to the work.
In breeding any type of dog, a "rosegarden" dog should be beautiful and
aesthetically pleasing, yet not garnered without hard work. Usually the
rosegarden prefix is followed by a phonetic "/r/" sounds... Rosegarden Ruxpin,
Rosegarden Romeo, Rosegarden Right as Rain... and so on. I still want to name
a litter after a " week theme". Monday-Monday, Ruby Tuesday, Wednesday Adams,
Thursday (still working on that one) T.G.I.F, Never on Sunday and (still
working on Saturday).
BlackHawk Farms, LLC is the Horse prefix. Most of my horses are named after
show dogs. Tweak is named after a very nice mini poodle--Ch. Halcyon An Heir
about Him... and ATM (All the Money) is named after an irish terrier Ch.
Aberglen ALL THE MONEY. My next foal, I want to name UMADEMELUVU.
