[ SHOWGSD-L ] judging the shows

Having been to some twelve hundred dog shows over a period of forty sevn years 
as an exhibitor, judge and just plain observer I feel pretty qualified to 
comment on the quality of the venues. There are just as many nice people at dog 
shows as nasty ones. Even though I have been jumped all over on occasion and 
last sunday was no exception I have also met some really nice people I dd not 
know at the very same shows.I have to say that the professional handlers of 
America have been very good to me as have most of the semi professionals so I 
concentrate my evaluations on other things. The quality of the dogs. The 
procedure of the judges and the conditions for exhibitors provided by the 
clubs.I am going to make my comments on my Life On Line column on my website 
which will make them available to people who are not on this list.
