I love to scour old Reviews. It is fun to see the old greats advertised before
they were the "greats". Fun to see litters advertised with the one or two in
it that went on to win big. What I really miss is the judges critiques. Back
in the 70s and 80s there were some really great critiques that were published
in the Review. These critiques were detailed and informative. I sure wish we
could make critiques mandatory for all Specialty shows and also publish them in
the Review. I know that just is not possible today. To have that type of
content you need advertisers. Many of those old Reviews had 100 paid
advertisements! Especially just before the National. And, of course, the
shows had ENTRIES! I also liked that 3 to 4 generation pedigrees were often
included in the ads. Sad that the times just don't allow for that sort of
thing anymore. I know that I certainly learned a lot from them.Best cynthia
