>Until we see the dogs at a normal speed instead of trying to hide these = problems with=20 > FASTER pulling into the leash, we'll still be talking about the same = problems in ten years.=20 I couldn't agree more. I find myself sitting on the sidelines at = specialties and at the nationals and I feel like I'm watching a horse race = - not a dog show. How can any judge can make decisions regarding correct = structure when animals are racing around the ring strung up on a right = lead? If we didn't require that of our show dogs, then handlers wouldn't = dominate the GSD ring and we might actually see owner-handlers back in the = ring. Our sport could grow instead of continuing to shrink into oblivion. This truly is a problem that our judges could fix, but I don't believe for = a moment that it will ever happen. Just try showing a good one in bred-by = to our specialty judges - most can't see beyond the professionally handled = animal. It does get discouraging after awhile...
