Honorable scars are scars "earned" from injuries suffered as a result of the
intended work of certain breeds of dog. It is specifically mentioned in the
standards of some terrier and sporting breeds. I always found that to be
interesting; but then, I am easily amused. I have never heard it used for a
GSD, but, of course, it could, and probably should, be.

That being said, I do have a problem with people anthropomorphizing dogs by
placing cultural or societal, human terms, such as honorable, upon them.
All dogs are honorable, in a sense, as they really couldn't be otherwise,
could they? Or would they all be dishonorable, in the reverse sense, as
they really are incapable of making such choices?? Go talk amongst
yourselves. :-) :-)

Paula, 161 days and counting

1. Don Jones will tell you that broken teeth, bitten ears missing eyes
are called "HONORABLE SCARS" and should not be considered when judging
dogs.
