A few years ago when I was still getting "paper" bank statements w/ canceled
checks, one whole page was missing. I called said bank to report it and get
a copy of the page. The young man I spoke to erroneously put a "hold" on the
account, unbeknownst to me, as I went along merrily writing
checks....Twenty-some, before the first one was returned in the mail. The
bank couldn't have
been more helpful, admitting their bad, sending letters and in once case
paying a $25 fee. I got absolutely NO sympathy from family and friends who
thought the whole thing was hilarious. The upshot was my Acme (local food
store)
store/check cashing card was canceled. Horror of horrors!
