The P & P gives a good description of what is required for a National Show
Site. It is also very detailed and likely most members do not download the
pdf and read through many many pages.
Gail is working on a "checklist" that will make it easier for members to help
find desirable show sites. This will be presented to The BOD at The April
Meeting for discussion. The idea is to make it easier for the members to
understand all of the necessities in finding desirable show sites.
Gail has also spoken to Purina about the contract and will inform The BOD in
April what years we can look at alternative locations.
Gail did visit 2 sites after The January BOD Meeting (Phoenix) with a member
who did research The GSDCA National requirements. I don't know this for a
fact; but I would guess Gail will let The BOD her thoughts on the venues in
April.
The 2017 BOD did overturn the 2016 BOD decision to stay at Purina
indefinitely. This was done in January. Until this was done; looking at
alternative show sites was pointless.
Hope this helps.

Maybe Linda Bankhead can help, she seems to be the most responsive BOD
member we have.

Our clubs want to put together a proposal but Gail has not sent us the
requirements and dates (years) they are looking at.
It is hard to get people excited to do a job and then just leave them
hanging because we cannot get the info. We requested it last September,
November, February.
