Seriously, there could be an underlying nutritional deficiency, there could
be a health issue, or it could simply be that some food wasn't digested and
dogs recycle.
There is the notion that bitches are worse than males at this and they DO
clean up after puppies, so are they exhibiting the same behavior...who knows???
Most of the problem can be managed by keeping the yard clean. There are
pills you can buy and some swear by adding meat tenderizer to a dogs dinner.
If
a party was going to go to all that trouble, I go back to saying don't leave
anything laying around.
Some dogs only do this in the winter when it freezes...again, who knows why?
I've always taught the "leave it" command.
