1. the willis book is older then dirt. it was written before the ofa existed.
it was written before parvo and polio vacines before DNA. science has long ago
out dated it. true there are some standard home remedies that have been around
and stood the test of time. ones our mothers used but while that book is an
interesting historical read thats all it is.
2. The Von Stephanitz book is also filled with long out dated theories but is
to be respected because a journey of a thousand miles begins with just one step.
3. I have been surprised and disgusted that the published breed research
completely ignores the experiments of Fortunate Fields.
4. If one were to test our dogs for every disease under the sun it would take
forever and cost a fortune. Longevity in certain bloodlines is an inexpensive
shortcut and we should keep better records on our animals.
5. the average dog should get through 9 healthy years with just normal care.
older dogs need doggy medicare. spay and neuter does help. the seeing eye and
the k-9 corps breeds and trains their own dogs.
