One thing that IMMEDIATELY turns me off about a dog is one that can stand on
his hock...ESPECIALLY puppies...they shouldn't be able to do it IMO. The
ones that I think are the worst, however, are the dogs who stand with a hock
flat on the ground and their leg isn't extended that far backwards....and
no, they're not sitting.
I DO know that there are dogs out there that can place a hock flat simply
because the muscles have been trained/stretched that way, but when setting
himself up naturally the same dog will not stand on the hock.
I'll never understand why people think that's a pretty picture, and then
lament, moan, groan, and call an "ignorance foul" on those "not in the know"
that think our dogs can't do anything but wobble around like disjointed
twits.
