I have never hid the fact that I think the futurities have been blown out
of proportion. . Less futurities means the shows in the same area but not
in conjunction with the futurities will not take such a big a beating . I
sit and watch the Midwest loosing more and more fall shows because the clubs
go
to back to backs in the spring so they can host a futurity(supposedly to
make money). Right now to the best of my knowledge we have the fall triangle,
fort Wayne top line the Ohio shows in conjunction with all breeds. the
Michigan shows. and in December if you can get there the W. Kentucky shows(if
I
have missed something someone will correct me) So that means from June on we
have 6 weekends in 6 months.
The weekends of the futurities the off shows can't get entries and can't
pull handlers in. Something needs to be done.
As I said everyone has been saying for years about the national - if you
want to go to a futurity you will find a way even if it means more traveling.
Some how we have to save the smaller clubs and the fall shows.
