Why not "morph" the futurities in to point shows? It could be done...and
wouldn't be all that difficult......Keep the litter nominations the same, the
age divisions the same.....have regional GSDCA specialties that limit entries
to those who are nominated within the correct time f rame....The winners &
reserve would be the fut/mat winners and reserve depending on which age group
the dog belongs in. If your dog/bitch was finished and you wanted to compete
for the fut/mat win, you could enter in open. All the winners/reserves from
these shows would have the opportunity to go to the National and compete for
FV/FVX or MV/MVX. You just would not have an exact number in each
category.....This may seem off the wall to some, but it's just one way that
could be used to change the "expensive match" into a point show...... Granted
handlers would still probably charge more, but at least you'd have the
opportunity to earn points toward a championship.Â
