Liz is right - we occassionally get snow in October, but cold weather usually doesn't come until after Halloween. The ski resorts (in the mountains) have all bought snow making machines to regularly meet their preferred opening date of Thanksgiving. As a mother, I got tired of my son's constant complaints of not seeing snow on the ground before Christmas most years. Most of the valley snowfall comes in January and February. Until the cluster was formed several years back, the IKC all-breed shows were always in October - I don't remember ever seeing snow at those shows. According to the National Weather Service at www.weather.com, the average daily high in SLC for Oct 1st is 72 degrees F. For Oct 27th, the average daily high in SLC is 60 degrees. Does this sound cold and snowy to you? :) Liz in Utah ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
