Great Idea Helen!! I vote for this - lets find a name that works and make
sure the Board doesn't lose the idea in the shuffle.

In 2000, my last year on the Board of the GSDCA, I proposed a new program
called AOA. The purpose was to honor dogs that were Champions, OFA
certified, temperament certified and had a training degree, or in other
words, the total dog. As one of the originators of AOE, it was a dream of
mine to initiate this program as well because not every dog can attend the
nationals to get a select. Due to the name of the program, it was tabled
and then as I left the board, forgotten. I proposed this program again and
Dania Karloff presented it for me. Once again, it was shot down because of
the NAME. Those with AOE dogs felt the name was to close. Rita Sandell was
appointed as an ad hoc chairman to investigate the "name." It was once
again tabled at the last board meeting because Rita had to leave early.
This program will probably get lost again over the "name" and it's so sad
for our breed. I had a dream, and my dream was that one day all our
champions would carry OFA numbers,
training and temperament certificates.
Maybe someday in the future....
