REPLY--> A change of the standard DOES not have to be generated by the
membership.
However it was generated, the Board which was elected to care for the needs of
the club

REPLY--> everyone is entitled to an opinion. All opinions should be
acknowledged. While many
feel the subject should never have come up, others feel that it should. Once
again, according to
the BY Laws
Article IV Section 1 - The General management of the CLub is entrusted to the
Board.
The membership will vote on all standard revisions and By law changes. It is
required. It is not
necessary to put anything else before the membership
3.even Petitions to allow the white dogs to separate....and NEVER acted
upon.
REPLY--> Once again, only the smallest of three white groups made a request.
The other two
groups said that they did not was to separate. The petition contained over 300
signatures.
The Board did act upon the request - it has been discussed several times at
several meetings
This group requested a letter to the AKC that we would not stop this group
leaving the breed.
We did not write a letter to the AKC on advice of Council and the AKC Rep. All
this is in the
minutes.
It is not necessary for the Board to go to the membership over every decision
they make.
4. Lowering the fee for Dues during the very time this goes to AKC
is a bit bothersome when the lowering of the membership fees is
ADVERTISED ON THE WHITE GSD SITE AS A MOTIVE TO JOIN THE GSDCA SO
THEY CAN THEN VOTE FOR REMOVAL OF THE DQ in the Standard....
REPLY--> The special rate was voted in in 2012 for one year to increase
membership, and
renewed for another year.
IT WAS NOT DONE TO, as the email implies, to garner more white owners to sway a
vote. The
special rate was already in effect.If people are advertising this, it is out of
the control of the
GSDCA, its Board and membership. And the vote will not come up until 2014, so
those people
will have to renew at the FULL rate.
