Yes, prior to the past 7 years I lived on acreage. We had dogs (of course)
horses, cats, ducks, geese and chickens.
Those goose eggs fed at least 3 dogs and the duck eggs sometimes enough for
2 dogs.
I had another use for goose eggs in my spare time (YA, RIGHT) I blew the egg
part through a small needle hole, let the eggs dry and eventually painted
them. Some of my painted goose eggs turned out really nice. They became a
welcome gift to some friends and relatives. I never quite managed to paint a
GSD on them, but flowers, snow and mountain scene's, tree's and other things
that looked nice.
I still have some unpainted ones packed away, if they haven't cracked or
broken these past few years, I just may take up painting again.
Tedious, but also relaxing and rewarding when I had them completed.
My dogs have always had at least 1/2 egg boiled a day. Usually one a day,
when the egg supply allowed it.
