It is my understanding that unless you had them sign something to the effect of
"non-refundable deposit" that you would be legally obligated to return the
deposit - definitely if you end up selling the puppy to someone else
? If they didn't sign the non-refundable deposit form then you would have to
prove that you suffered financial loss because they backed out of the contract,
which would be hard to do in a court?
? I am not a lawyer, but based on a past issue dealing with a car selling
issue, this is my understanding

How would you handle this one....
Person puts down a deposit on a pup. You hold the pup turn away all others
requests for pets since your pet pups are spoken for. Then after almost 6 weeks
the person backs out because their other dog needs more training per the
trainer
and he says not to get another dog yet. The person writes to you and demands
their deposit back even though you told them you would hold it for another
litter. This person then threatens to take you to court.
Now in hind site I am glad this person is NOT getting a pup from me and NEVER
will but what would you do in this situation. I have at this point already
handled the situation and will in the future be handling things a bit
differently since this has never happened before. Does anyone know leagally
what
are the rules here???
