I'd seriously like to sock the idiots that came up with the "ears shouldn't touch" rule. Why should those of us with pointy earred dogs have to pay more for a larger crate than those with drop earred dogs that are the same height at the shoulders!? What does their EARS touching the top of the crate have to do with anything!? When we buy crates for our dogs, the rule is they should have enough room to be able to stand up, turn around, and lie back down. The dogs sure don't care if their ear tips touch >.< If I shipped Strauss, he'd have to be shipped in a 700 crate (which is FAR too large for him overall) because his ears touch the top of a 500.
