Ann, the only white herding breed is the Puli. ( They can also be black )
There are many
working breeds that are white, guardians which are supposed to blend in with
the herd,
one of the reasons they are in the working group rather than the herding group.

I too would like to know the real reason. I have heard that it was because
they couldn,t be police dogs as they are too easily seen at night and so meone
could get shot. And they can't herd because you can't see them in with the
sheep.
I could get a couple police who used white GSDs to tell the heroic deeds theses
dogs did.
I don't know any shepherded but are there other white herding breeds?
