[ SHOWGSD-L ] can my dogs catch things from a pet store puppy?

Dear List,
My daughter & I are going to a friend's house for Thanksgiving. To
simplify life (and have more fun), we're bringing the dogs and staying
the night at his son's house, which is next door; the yards share a 3'
chain link fence. My friend has a ~3yr old toy poodle that my dogs are
familiar with. As of Sunday night my friend also has a 12-14-wk old toy
poodle. I believe he got it for free, from one of his tenants, who
perhaps works at the pet shop where the puppy has been. (Originally
$600, marked down to $200, then given away ... what a life.)
Could this puppy be contagious for any diseases my dogs can get? Indi
is almost 2, Brittany is 11, they are up on their shots (rabies,
distemper, parvo, lepto, whatever else is standard I can't remember
right now). If it were *my* puppy, I'd worry about it catching
something from older dogs, but it's not so I won't. I just want to know
if I need to be careful for my dogs' sakes. (If it were my puppy, it
would have come to me via a different route ... and been a larger breed
... and ...!)
