[ SHOWGSD-L ] bugging out

I'm going to be gone from tomorrow until sometime Monday 
evening........so won't be bugging anyone on any lists, at least about 
legislation.

I do hope, tho, that you all realize by now that we dog fanciers are 
facing a terrible threat.  Other states aren't even waiting to see if AB 
1634 passes...they are talking about mandatory s/n laws as I type.  If 
we continue to ignore the bad legislation that keeps popping up, and 
turn a blind eye because we think WE personally won't feel any 
difference in our lives........and if we put our money and our faith in 
famous AKC names, or even in the AKC, instead of with experienced 
fighters against bad legislation who know that the only way to deal with 
a bad bill is to kill it, not compromise or amend it......... OR if we 
say things like "well, I don't think Bill O'Reilly is the right person 
to speak for us," then we are doomed.............Bill O'Reilly may not 
be your favorite person...but we have to use who we've got...and so long 
as nobody is going to "take out" Bob Barker or the ignorant celebrities 
who keep giving scads of money to PETA and HSUS.........yes, we're doomed. 
    I hope to return to the computer after next week and find out that 
everyone has joined together and is doing their level best to defeat the 
bill in California, to knock the Ohio bill out of the park (not 
compromise on it), and WORK TOGETHER.
