I can only speak for myself. I think it depends on your bitch. Is she
healthy, hearty, vital? (Have you x-rayed and health tested? Does she act
old whatever THAT is!)? Izzy will be 9 next month; we waited to breed
her--she was 6. Then we bred her again at 7 and a half. All healthy pups
and now she's spayed. Years ago, we bred Ketchy at almost 8. Healthy
pups. We spayed her and she lived till almost 14.
