I have a different breakdown on this 1. A puppy mill supplies puppies to commercial outlets which sell dogs in large quantities. 2. A back yard breeder is one who breeds any kind of dog sometimes even non purebred dogs because they like doing it. they are not involved in purebred dogs and have no wish to be. 3. A Professional Breeder has a kennel with a minimum of four runs and makes at least part of their living in dogs. Most handlers fall into this category as do Boarding and training kennels Kennels. they always have puppies available 4. A Hobby Breeder which most of us are is involved in Dog Clubs Signs the Code of ethics. and follows the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club. The Hobby breeder may breed very few litters over the years or as many as three or four litters in one year. ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
