Nope. I am very well aware that zoning laws change as urban sprawl happens.
I, however, had a letter of understanding drafted and signed by the township
solicitors and zoning officer prior to purchasing my property, clearly
defining any dog limitations and/or restrictions, so you see, I'm very well
protected. Actually the stipulation of the receipt of such a statement was a
part
of my initial sales offer which would have been withdrawn had the document
not been received and been to my (team's) satisfaction. Believe me, I was
holding my breath before I received it! Certainly I wanted the deal to happen,
but I would have never done the deal or sunk the $$$$$$ into making a doggy
showplace/playground if I wasn't protected. It helps to have good lawyers,
realtors and title agents on the team:)
Re urban sprawl; that's a real shame. It's a shame when people have new
land limits and regs and it's even more of a shame when seniors on fixed
income
can't afford rising property taxes and have to move from the home they raised
their children, where they planned to retire. I don't have any ideas.
Property values are soaring and, sadly it impacts seniors on fixed income who
want to stay put but can no longer afford to do so. Locally, we have property
tax abatements for seniors below a certain income, but they're only a drop in
the bucket.
