I had a Asslam grandson, he was a Can. Champion,OTCH and American U.D. and a
Can TDX. He was a very nice boy, I bought him from Olivia Fowlis, in
Portland Oregon she was his breeder, although he was not a movement dog as
the dogs of today. He was a balanced mover and had no health problems. He
was my buddy, and the dog I learned from. Lori N. would remember him. I was
trialing him when she was working Butch.

there were two dogs imported to the United States between 1955and 1960 who
had an overwhelming influence on the American German Shepherd. Troll v
Richterbach and Bernd v Kallengarten. ten years later two german seigers
were also imported. these two dogs were smaller and more agile then bernd or
troll but americans did not use them. they were bodo v leirberg and asslam v
klammle. the german dogs today do not resemble any of them.
