There is a very good allergy test your vet can do. It is expensive, but it
will tell you everything the dog is allergic to and the degree of
sensitivity. My dog is very allergic, but we knew most of his allergies --
or so we thought. Turns out he is allergic to peas and carrots. He always
hated carrots :-)
He was also allergic to palm trees, plantains (the weed), crabgrass, and
cedar.
Now, I live in South Florida, so palm trees and cedar were a big problem. In
the back of the house, we cut down the only palm tree and took up all the
cedar mulch that is so common down here.
He's now fine. The test ran about $500.00 but it saved me that much in vet
bills and meds. In addition, he really could have died.
