[ SHOWGSD-L ] anal glands

My vets feel that it is seldom necessary to express the anal glands. In 
fact they feel that to clear them often leads to irritation and further 
problems.  I have seen this happen to a couple of dogs, and leave well 
enough alone.  A proper diet seems to take care of it.
If there is a need, we go to the vet.  Doris E
