Like all other judges, every week,I get online showcases,plus all the
different breed magazines plus the Canine Chronicle, and Dog News. Those two
magazines have the top circulation of all the dog magazines. But since
Jimmy's retirement,there has only been an occasional GSD advertised,in Dog
News.
He,and whatever GSD he was showing,were in it every week. Both those
magazines always have many,many informational columns. That type of
advertising
is probably only used by owners seeking to make records like 100 BIS
,Number 1 GSD and Westminster Select or BOB,or multi country BOB. Our club
members usually use the Review,which limits the GSD's exposure. Jane Bennett
used to have a 1000 Foreign and non-member subscription to the Review, I
think Evan has a point about printing extra Reviews and sending them to AKC
judges. I think this certainly would encourage more advertising,which
would help with the extra expense of mailing, and certainly help educate all
breed judges about our dogs. We also have a lot of gifted writers in our
club,Barbara, Ginny ( on health) David,and Peggy Mickelson,who is a magazine
writer already.Jane Bennett was a member of the Dog Writers club,always went
to Westminster to circulate with the other writers ,and always put a few
