You know for every microchip failure story there are tons of successes. Let
me tell you a story of a personal experience I had about one year ago. Out
of the blue I received a call from the animal control in a town about 40
miles away. It seemed they had one of my dogs. After checking who it belonged
to, and doing a little checking I found the previous owner had moved away
because of health problems and placed the dog elsewhere (in spite of the fact
he
had a contract to contact me, should he no longer be able to keep the
dog...lived maybe a mile away and also went to my vet, he didn't contact me).
I drove
down, paid the fees and picked Maggie up. What a mess she was, skin and
bones and so flea ridden it took a couple of baths, through some very RED
water... and Capstar to rid her of them. I still remember sitting at my desk
after
giving her a bath feeling very crawly and finding fleas in my hair LOL. And
to top it off she was heartworm positive. After months of care I found her a
super home. Without a microchip....registered to me...( I buy all from Avid
so they are automatically registered to the purchaser) I would never have
had the opportunity to rescue this sweetheart of a dog!! Obviously I am a big

fan of microchips and no dog whether its a puppy I bred or a dog I rescue
leaves here without one. In this day and age I find it inexcusable for any
animal control or the like to not scan any animals they find.
