This is part One of a very long post...but it is worth printing out and
keeping handy. It comes from Catherine Newsome, past president of
Sussex Hills KC and past president of two local specialty breed clubs.
Other than that, I don't know her credentials, but she is keeping track
of this thing...so, here it is (part one only)

Dear Breed Clubs,
(FYI I have been tracking Canine Influenza since September 22nd. This
list will be updated every few days. As of today, veterinarians and
breeders have documented the disease in the following areas. At the
requests of many, I am now asking for additional information.
Please differentiate between kennel cough and influenza. The only way to
confirm Canine Influenza is to submit a blood sample to Cornell
University. Please go to Google and check Canine Influenza for the signs
and symptoms of kennel cough and those of Canine Influenza.
DISCLAIMER: Below is a listing of reports regarding the incidence of
Canine Influenza in the United States and in other areas.These reports
are sent via email from present or former breed club officials. A
bi-weekly check is made of newspaper and online materials. The goal of
this list is to provide the most current data on this disease to dog
breeders of show and performance dogs, and dog show participants . This
list is not being compiled by a veterinarian nor by the Center for
Disease Control. I am a credentialled medical archivist and researcher
as well as a breeder for over forty years.
