I've given a puppy twice in place of a stud fee.
I guess it depends on the stud dog owner, but IMO even though the puppy
might be a pick, I do not guarantee it for anything other than health.
Afterall there are very few stud fees out there that are equal to the price of
a show puppy and if that puppy turns out to more than a pet; that benefits
everyone in the long run.
If the stud dog owner chooses to sell the puppy rather than hang onto it,
then they should be responsible for any guarantees, but again, if it's a
concern, I'd just work it out in writing before hand.

Who guarantees the puppy? Do you do a contract? Eg you take a puppy instead of
a stud fees, the puppy doesn't turn out, or has major health issues etc etc..
do you just suck it up? Are you entitled to a replacement? If you sell the
puppy who provides a guarantee - the breeder or you??
Not an issue anywhere, just a thought that ran through my head - which has
truly been quite waterlogged with all the rain we have had!! So GREAT to see
the sun!!!
