You bring up a good point. I have never seen a GSD specialty supporting an AB
club here in SoCal. Yet it is very common in other breeds. Perhaps that is an
option for some regional GSD clubs. Many AB clubs hold specialties on Thurs or
Friday, depending on the cluster. The AB shows to follow. The specialty clubs
do have some say in the AB shows as they are supporting the club with the
specialtiy. Asking for a bigger ring for the AB shows wouldn't be out of line
if the GSD club is supporting the show. Another option to bring in entries for
both AB and specialties. Do one weekend with major entries compared to many
weekends of no/broken entries, travel, handler and tons of expenses. Just a
thought.

As someone who has both Goldens and GSD's and has shown both as a owner
andler I believe that
t is easier for a owner/handler to win in the golden ring than a GSD ring.
'm in S. Florida and we do have breeders and exhibitors with GSD's yet none
f them enter the all breed shows. The rings are small for GSD's and when a
lighty larger ring is asked for the answer has been NO.
ur Golden specialty is held on a Friday and we have two all breed shows on
at and Sunday. We always have pulled majors.
The GSD's that; show in a specialty aren't shown in all breeds. Example
anuary circuit majors in 6 specialties in GSD's and the rest of the week at
he all breeds maybe if you were lucky 5 to 10 GSD's the next two weeks.
