Don't you mean "closed session?" It would have been impossible for the
board to discuss Mr. Hunte's membership application without the potential for
things being said that might have left the club open for a lawsuit. "Closed
session" was the only way to handle that membership application, in my
opinion,
and in fact that is why closed sessions exist.
