Like Sheila I train my dogs to do IT.  Go PEE.  If they have not had a stool 
that day we do the biggie--GO POOP!  It takes time but when they complete 
the command, they are given a treat.  I KNOW---BUT IT WORKS OK?  After a 
while it takes less and less time.  I know--but it does work.  sandi
