Ken Tank was kind enough to pick me up to go to the board meeting. We got to
talk for a while on the drive. It reminds me of how many of my friends I
should be talking to.
I am not on Face Book. I don't Twitter, I am on no social media, except this
List.
I knew there was a closed session at the end of the meeting, but I was so
pleased as to what I saw at the meeting, I saw no reason to mention it. I have
faith that the Board used it to deal with a situation that required some
discretion. I still have no idea what it was about, and I don't believe I need
to know.
I am so old I remember when it was discovered that our editor owned a company
that was charging us for layout, and the board was not told she owned the
company. I remember a treasurer who was to bring the books of the club to the
National and had his car stolen. When they got it back, only the books and
records were missing. There are so many stories some maybe true, and some
fiction.
If what Kathy says is true, and I am sure it is, get off Face Book. I believe
in Free Speech, but I also support Free Read. Maybe some of that is fake news.
I have heard a lot about that too.
