That is what I also was told. It is amazing to realize that all litigation
in America is public. You can go into any court-room and into any court and
see the records of all civil litigation and watch trial on every level
except juvenile court. If you want to keep it private, you have to get a court
order to seal the record, and that is not easy.
And yet, here we are. A club, with an attorney, in litigation. For some
reason there is a group, (our board) who is being told to keep it out of
the hands of the club members, and to keep it private. We know more about
the drunk driving conviction of Lindsey Lohan or the Michael Vick conviction
than we do about what Margie is asking our club to settle her suit.
I didn't want to know about Ms. Lohan, and I can go a long time without
knowing about Mr. Vick or Margy. But, I have seen some posts today saying
people have gotten disgusted and dropped out of the club because of the
secrets. That I don't accept.
It is time for our leadership to think about how this is being handled, and
to figure out why they want it to be kept from those who own this club.
If you want to know, send a letter to your board members, or to Tish if they
are told not to answer. Just ask what is being done with your club, your
finances and your breed.
It remains your club. That is one thing I do know.
