Denver is a secondary hub for United...and used to be for Delta...so it works pretty well. ....as is Salt Lake CIty, Utah. Delta has changes periodically so you're never sure...but their MAIN hub is always Atlanta, Ga. YIKES! When did "West of the Mississippi" become the West??? <G> How about we say that about the Continental Divide........ <G> Carolyn marhaven@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.marhaven.com On Behalf Of Lew Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: west locations Or how about Denver....the discuss was west, not west coast.. Anything west of the Mississippi is west. I was checking to see if Denver was still a hub for United and found some interesting info on Wikipedia: Denver International Airportoften referred to as DIA, is an airport in Denver <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver> , Colorado. At 34,000 acres (53 sq mi), it is the largest airport in the United States by total area. Runway 16R/34L is the longest public use runway in the United States. In 2013, DIA was the 15th-busiest airport in the world <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World%27s_busiest_airports_by_passenger_traffi c> by passenger traffic with 52,556,359 passengers. As of 2014 the airport is the 15th busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World%27s_busiest_airports_by_passenger_traffi c> and sixth busiest in the world by aircraft movements <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World%27s_busiest_airports_by_aircraft_movemen ts> . DIA has non-stop service to destinations throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. The airport is in northeastern Denver and is operated by the City & County of Denver Department of Aviation. DIA was voted Best Airport in North America by readers of Business Traveler Magazine six years in a row (2005-2010)[3] <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver_International_Airport#cite_note-3> and was named "America's Best Run Airport" by Time Magazine <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_%28magazine%29> in 2002.[4] <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver_International_Airport#cite_note-4> DIA is the main hub for low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frontier_Airlines> and commuter carrier Great Lakes Airlines <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Lakes_Airlines> . It is also the fourth-largest and Central US hub for United Airlines <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Airlines> , and a major focus city <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Focus_city> for Southwest Airlines <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southwest_Airlines> . Since commencing service to Denver in January 2006, Southwest has added over 50 destinations, making Denver its fastest-growing market. DIA is the only airport in the United States to have implemented an ISO 14001 <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_14001> -certified environmental management system covering the entire airport ----- Original Message ----- From: Molly Snider (Redacted sender <mailto:bokenkampgsd1@xxxxxxx%22%20for%20DMARC%29> "bokenkampgsd1@xxxxxxx" for DMARC) To: showgsd-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, January 24, 2015 10:02 AM Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] west locations they are suggesting places for outside dog show.....anyone remember the fog in Del Mar??? choice 1 AZ, choice 2 Calif motion made and passed..................
