I would like to remind every member here of the necessity of having a properly written contract before either selling or buying a puppy. I am currently aware of a situation where a beautiful bitch will probably never be bred because of a contract dispute (nothing in writing, thus the AKC will not get involved). The seller a well known North Carolina Breeder. the buyer, probably one of the best known and recognized names in the breed. Personally if it were me, I would have given the pup to this buyer. There can be no greater honor than having the best of the best recognize you and your work. There is no greater pleasure than selling to an owner that puts the dogs above all. offering unlimited love, training and health care. The day of the oral contract or handshake is long gone, unfortunately. Morgan Lewis, RPh.
